Going through all my AC openings this past weekend,

I'm really liking AC 4 Answer and Last Raven as tied for the best, and Ninebreaker and ACVerdict day as tied for the worst.

any body else get a charge are the AC opening movies?

Infinite diversity in Infinite combinations, the emperor's business enterprises,  his wall building and book burning

are opposite terms in an equation.  I am reason. It's the single emotion you permitted me,

Everything is reasonable but my mind was not designed for mindless labor.

For it's time, MoA had the best opening. It was mind-blowingly well-designed and had some incredible music and graphics.

However, AC4:FA would be the next step. It was probably the first CGI video I saw that actually looked real. ACV is a close second.

Verdict day didn't really have an intro. It had a trailer video but no intro.

I wouldn't consider Nine Breaker to be a true intro video, since it's mostly just a clip show of gameplay with no new renderings.

Project Phantasma is the worst by far, I think. It looked worse than the AC1 intro and wasn't as interesting.

Last Raven>all, by a considerable margin.

Close the door, put out the light.

Ac3 intro> LR intro(no way he could dodge rail cannon in point blank, laggy ass connection)

ACV and ACPP are shitty but acpp>acv

Edit: also acla intro false advertisement. Made hand railgun seem godly but it isn't

best intros in my opinion are Last Raven, For Answer, V, and 4.

Worst ones are Verdict Day, formula front, and nine-breaker (although I will say that Nine-Breaker's had a great song).

Defeat is just temporary. I will return, and I will beat you eventually!

This is a difficult question.

I would personally like to say ACNB's is the worst, but eh.

I suppose they're all good in their own right, as this'll generally come down to a public opinion sort of thing.

And with that, I say it's tied between AC2 and LR for best openings.

Favorite definitely had to be the Armored Core 3 opening, a 2 vs 2 fight between Crest and Mirage.
Sets the mood and tone of the game pretty well.

right? and then all of a sudden we get to the blading section. That ac is like "OMGZ SWEWSH SWEWSH GUIZ IM A BLADOR"…. LR is bamfery in its purest form.

Close the door, put out the light.

LR and MoA are best.

nothing worst 4 me. (if I have to pick one, AC1 is my choice but just by long-time-ago technical problem)

Best: MOA by far. It just gets the feel right in every way, from the sound, to the cuts, to the fighting.

Worst: PP because it seemed like they weren't even trying. NB is excusable because it was, well, a half-assed game to begin with. PP wasn't. Extra thumbs down for showing us an AC configuration we couldn't even use.

Guys, have you SEEN the Nexus Intro?

Listening to this music can /actually/ bring a tear to my eye. I don't know what it is about it, maybe it's the tune of it, the voices or something else. The movement of the ACs is top notch. Maybe this is where they got the AC4 era flight from?

EDIT: On a side note, does anyone know the song and the parts of the ACs? particularly the black AC.

In my opinion, I believe the best intro is either AC3's or ACFA's. As for the worst intro, its probably AC1's...

does anyone know the song and the parts of the ACs? particularly the black AC.

Song is "Shining" -
Do you mean Oracle? - http://armoredcore.w...om/wiki/Evangel

Song:

The Nexus Black AC (who isn't in the intro) is Genobee (http://armoredcore.w...om/wiki/Genobee) and uses a standard crest frame with upgraded legs. Also has dual mounted back grenade launchers, and is the most unashamedly badass AC pilot in the AC3 era. (Thermidor/Otsdarva takes it for AC4/5 Era, and Leos Klein takes it for the AC1/2 era, in my opinion).

Blue AC (which sort of looks black in the intro video) is Oracle, which is Evangel, using a cheese build like the cheap bastard he is.

Red AC is a generic "big red" Mirage design. A design like it is faced at least once, I believe, in a mission. Similar to the Big Red from AC2:AA.

The nexus intro is probably the least appreciated, just like the game. Very underrated. The 2-disc set came with more missions and content than any AC game (even more so than the 100+ missions of AC2:AA) and while the heat and energy was difficult to master in Nexus, It was also one of the most balanced and challenging games for veterans. I think it was, truly and honestly, a game designed purely for veteran players from the original games.

For me, Nexus started off as a disappointment after Last Raven (I played them out of order, skipping NX and NB after SL, and then buying NX and LR around the same time) but as time went on, LR got too easy and I actually enjoyed and played NX more for it's difficulty and variety. I think they messed up more things in LR than they got right when it comes to the combat, giving your ACs extremely high abilities and just making the enemies cheat, rather than in NX where the AI was good simply because it could manage heat and energy better than you. Losing in that game felt like you actually got out-smarted, rather than out-gunned. I still think because of that it had some of the most intelligent AI.

The song is called Shining, and is one of my personal favourite AC songs.

If you're interested, here is what I think the lyrics are:

Flying, Flying, Fighting, Sagi,
Flying, Flying, Fighting, Sagi,

Shining bright for you, so that you'll find me,
Shining bright for you, so that you'll find me,

Baby baby, do your dance,
Baby baby, do your thing,
Baby baby, do your dance,
Baby baby, do your thing,

Shining bright for you, so that you'll find me,
Shining bright for you, so that you'll find me.

yes, I did take them from that comment on the video, but I also risked ear damage by pumping up the volume on the song to carefully listen to them.

Defeat is just temporary. I will return, and I will beat you eventually!

Maybe the kneel was a sign of respect for the soon to be departed...... ;)

B.T.W is it too late to hope for an opening movie for ACVD perhaps as DLC ;) And maybe as a teaser for AC6

Nexus intro is plagued by overly organic movement, much like AC3s. ACs move too fluidly and in ways that are anthropomorpocized, they end up looking slower and.... twitchy... LR generates a sense of real world physics and scale, it's a PS2 game that could still hold its own as part of a modern movie.

Ac3 is badass because the surviving AC cheeses Swewsh Swewsh, with one arm.

Close the door, put out the light.

It seems the Nexus AC is actually called "Oracle", Dual Face has an entirely different head piece, while Oracle has the H11-QUEEN as featured.
