Ya I sold my 360 for a ps3 about a year ago for this reason lol. But I guess the ps4 now requires a monthly fee also, so, the future looks bleak...

I voted, but I remember this game being on sale months ago. (I don't remember exactly when. Perhaps it was early 2015?) A lot of noobs came into the game for a few days, and pretty much all of them just quit after a short while. I'm not convinced this game being free for a month would breath new life into the community; the new players would just quit like they did when the game was on sale. Anyone who thinks it's worth it to stick around and learn the game would likely think it's worth it to pay full price anyway.
I could be wrong though. Maybe all those people that came in during the sale just needed a decent mentor. If that's true, it's tragic I have waited until a few weeks from now to form a team to do just that, hahaha.

Mmm the other thing I hear is that guides are boring and that new players don't want to spend time beating the story and unlocking parts and learning mechanics just to play PvP. A good majority of them play just for the story anyhow. The rest aren't willing to stick around to try and get good when we can kill them with a flick of the wrist. I just sat there and played rifle tag with a new guy earlier, so some really aren't all that interested in PvP. It's a weird thought, but it may be the case that the majority of the players aren't in the game for the Multiplayer - and that's something that seems absolutely ridiculous, I should think, to those of us who play this game solely for the multiplayer.

Lemme ask something.

I need Xbox Live Gold to download, ain't that right. But can I play games downloaded this way, even if I run out of Xbox Live Gold? I can play them offline alright it seems, but I haven't tried online, so I can't tell.

Other question is, how much did Xbox Gold cost again? If it's less than 12 euros for a month (Means I could get VD for Xbox for 12 euros or less and play whenever), I'd be interested.

Edit: Looks like I've voted for this ages ago already, and there's still only 28 votes.

You need a gold membership to play multiplayer games with people across the internet, but you don't to play offline games. I don't know how many Euros it would cost for gold membership, but in the USA the options are 10$ for month-to-month payments, 25$ for 3 months, or 60 for 12 months.

Yeah. I know that part all too well. I'm still bitter at Microsoft for not letting me upload my high score on the leaderboards in a game, just because I had no Gold.

But the thing that I was after is that I'd recall playing Super Street Fighter offline and without Gold, which I got via. games for gold, but I never bought the game separately.

I know that PS3 has it so that if you don't have PS Plus, you can't play the games once you run out. This is what I was after.

I've always thought it was easier to pay for the whole year - cheaper too. Then and again, I might reevaluate the price, I don't find the time to play all that often anyhow.

Hmm, I remember being able to update my score on an in-game leaderboard in Soul Calibur 5 at a time when I didn't have gold, but the game broke and I have gold again, so now there is no way to test that for me.

I'm pretty sure you can play all the games you downloaded from games with gold even after your membership expires. I'm not entirely sure though, as I play almost nothing but ACVD nowadays.
