Brackets will be posted September 20th.

By my count, it's the 22nd, which means he rest of the world should have made it to the 21st by now. Brackets don't appear to be up yet...

They are. I think they were up on the 19th actually (at the end at like 11 pm).

I don't think they're final though. If that's what you mean.
Was trying to think of something to put here... Couldn't think of anything... Nope, nothing.

They've been up since the 19th, I just haven't announced it because I still needed to work on a few things first.

All competitors will receive an email tomorrow to confirm that they will and still are participating in the tournie. There will also be another update video Wednesday to clear up how the tournament will be proceeding and what they need to do.

By "not up" I mean there was no notification in the thread including the link, so they weren't being advertised yet.

Thanks for the update!

Final update to brackets made to account for player dropouts and time change requests.

For all competitors, be sure to rewatch both update videos 1 and 2 on my channel. They provide some information as to what to expect.

Stream will be at Twitch.tv/FromCheng
Brackets can be found at http://challonge.com/skillbreakerSSP
Tournament starts at 12 PM Eastern Daylight Time (UTC+4). Use this if you're not certain what time it is for you. http://www.thetimezoneconverter.com/
Show up early to avoid DQs and putting yourself in bad situations. As a rule of thumb, each bracket should take about 15-25 minutes, with three brackets being done at a time.

Competitors be sure to read all the rules and make sure you are following them, particularly bans/restrictions. If you haven't already, sell dual shoulder arms to prevent accidental use.
Three chat rooms will be open for players, 2 for winners side, 1 for losers side. I will invite you to specific chat rooms, so don't add anyone else in there too.

If the tournament is running slow, don't worry. As matches go on and both competitors and referees get more comfortable with what needs to be done and what is expected, we can starting have one referee per set to move things along faster if need be.

Here is the update video #2

So the event begins at 12pm, but do you know who is fighting first, second, etc. Does it start at the bracket on top first and goes down to the next matchup? Just wondering. I may be a bit late, around 1-130pm, but will keep you posted. I am farther down on the bracket list.

Yup, so we're going to start at the top of the bracket and then work our way downwards. After we've done a certain amount of winners side we will then have a few of the referees move over to losers side so that everyone isn't waiting forever.

learn to fucking use UTC properly.

It's UTC-4 not UTC+4. Or else the tournament would've started ages ago.

You deserve the cuss for your incompetence.

Given that he listed it as EDT, which is Eastern Daylight Time, I was running off that instead of the UTC specification, but yeah, Q's right. It's -4.

Apologies. The Converter I used lists it as UTC+4. I will keep note of that for future reference.

Tournament's been fun, and thanks to the referees for making a great effort to accomodate my country's failtastic internet issues. Sorry that I couldn't connect to gilgamesh, and we held things up a bit continuing to try, but what little fighting I saw was great fun.

And good luck to everyone still in!

SkillBreakeR-SSP has now officially concluded. Congratulations to winner, Helamasa taking it 3-1 over Dissocation. There were some really amazing games and upsets that happened and I'm happy with how things turned out.

Thank you everyone who watched the stream or participated or in general just showed their support. It was a long and tough undertaking with lots of issues and setbacks that took almost 12 1/2 hours to run, but we did it.

I would like to apologize to anyone who ended up having to drop out because matches were taking too long, and I promise that I will remedy this issue in the future. We are still a long ways off before we have a stable, efficient format but I feel we are definitely taking the steps in the right direction to get there. I would also like to apologize personally to Obliviondoll. The situation you were put in was unfair, and I hope I will get the chance to make it up to you in the near future.

I don't know when vids will be up. I have 12 hours of VOD to go through but I will be try to do it ASAP.

Brackets info if you would like to see how things went down. http://challonge.com/skillbreakerSSP

Just a quick update folks. Currently in the process of editing the VODs. Decided to drop 10 bucks on download software as I felt completely uninterested in dealing with YT/Twitches intuitive and unwieldy export bs and I've had too many problems with freeware to want to deal with another infected comp.

This means that vids will come out much quicker. I've already finished editing the first 5-7 sets or so. Bad news is because of the size of the VOD it's putting alot more strain on my comp so it will take longer, just not 6 years long now. First match should be up tomorrow assuming everything works out okay.

Thanks a lot for hosting the tourney cheng and big props to all the other refs. While ruffs commentary was sometimes missing some of the subtleties of the game (which was expected with his limited experience of V/VD) he is a great caster and has a contagious enthusiasm for the games.

There were some really great games and while I think the ruleset was not explored to it's fullest I felt like it served it's purpose well. A lot of games came down to the wire and there were some swingy comebacks. Unfortunately the lack of manual aim builds and some of the more known players was a real shame.. If a similar ruleset is taken in future then perhaps exceptions could be made for these builds.

After being unhappy with my performance if another tournament comes around that I can partake in I'm going to be putting in work so you better be ready everybody ;).

From what I've heard about about the tourney it was a surprising amount of fun and the builds were more varied than it would have first appeared. While I dislike 1v1s I would personally be interested in taking part in a 2v2 or team based tourney under the same or stricter bans. Kinda looking forward to the vids.
