So I'm using the Sawarabi legs, the lightest KE core I could find, the Vlad III CE arms, the highest camera performance CE head I could get, dual high-power rifles, AS missiles and long laser blades(the ones that look like swords). KE defense is around 1500, CE is at around 670, and TE is a little over 300. Ideas for added defense appreciated ; _ ;

Also, this is not a PvP AC, although I use it for that as well(only for Normal Sorties, as noone plays Freebs anymore) 

This is a general-purpose AC, rate it and give comments please :)

I mean for this AC. I have used heavy bipeds before and I prefer this light RJ that I made. I love the jumping and aerial combat.

Well, if you do some digging around, you'll surely find that Sawarabis have been discussed a multitude of times, but lemme tell you what I think.

Either go for a full KE defense frame, or go for KE head and core with those TE arms, I forgot name since VD has such genious naming, but they should offer you enough TE to buff PMGs (833TE, iirc), and you should try to have maybe 1505 KE to buff Lampourde, thought they say it's not that good in VD, so that's completely optional I guess.
Leave CE parts be unless you specifically want high camera or movement stability performance from a head, or good firing stability from arms. In terms of defense, CE is usually the least of your problems as a Sawarabi.

 

Which brings us to the next thing.

Sawarabis. They're fast. Ridiculously fast. Surely you've seen videos of Kumorabis on JP? Maybe a Sniparabi? Yeah. They don't need CE. Barely anything else, if the Sawarabi's pilot is good and it's opponents are not, and even when the opposing side is good, just the sight of Sawarabis probably makes them want to get drunk and hang themselves on the spot.

 

If you wish to use dual rifles, some other LRJ legs with better turning (and defense) might be a more preferable option, as Sawarabis are generally used for either:

1. Murakumos. Sawarabi's high speed, with proper timing, gives those kumos an insane damage boost. Add to that Murakumos' short after-attack delay time with the legs' speed and jumping capability, and you have a build that's theoretically impossible to hit with low-muzzle weapons that also has the potential to 3-2-shot, in extreme cases, 1-shot opponents. Go further and add either plasma missiles to deal with quads (Where did I get this idea, I wonder?), or CIWs to deal with the few missiles that might hit you, and finally, a pair of KE and TE shields to further guarantee the legs' near-invincible being.

 

2. Sniping. 

Two Cycads, a pair of subcomputers, a glance or a long range FCS and you're done. Like I stated above, Sawarabis are fast, making it difficult to hit them, so using snipers allows for the Sawarabi user to deal reliable poke damage at a range, pretty much guaranteeing they won't be hit by anything that's not either a sniper, sniper cannon, laser cannon, laser rifle, or a rail cannon. But only Goats use rail cannons as far as I know.

But there's more! Like on a Kumorabi, adding a KE and a TE shield can help you against those high-muzzle weapons. Only remember that when your only source of damage is KE, as a sniper, you'll want to count on your teammates dealing with any KE shields your enemy team might be using.

 

If you want cool points, replace a shield with a murakumo, so that you can both snipe and melee people. A murakumo will also deal with KE shields as well.

 

That being said, Sawarabi legs aren't very suited for anything besides hit-and-run tactics, or shooting from afar, unless you want to get creative.

 

 

TL;DR 
Sawarabis don't need much defense as they're so fast.

I really like the rifles, as they're like snipers but with a higher firing rate. And I have dual laser blades in my bays, I love blading people :P Thanks, Crow, I'll keep your advice in mind and maybe make some changes : ) Much obliged.

The new problem is that I'm taking too much damage from other light mobile AC's. Any movement suggestions or suggestions for avoiding damage?

What weapons specifically? If you are using a LRJ you should really only fear Sawa + HSM and maybe AS missiles. (Which are rare at best)


Anything can be solved with the proper application of explosives

If im not mistaken that fcs is the shorter long range. Mix that with homo legs and lotus' and u got a pretty inaccurate setup. 300 ciws are always better. Unless youre looking to play with handicaps, but even then the legs balance that out. I honestly dont think that would be useful for killing anything. Just some constructive feedback.

It's an effective light killer, not really anything more than a fun little toyish AC. Will try out longer-range FCS, accuracy is not the greatest.

Maybe for pve and new players learning to use lws. Plus a lw killer could be built with anything other than rifles and be effective
