No not really, I just use a really long hdmi cable and put the ps3 outside my room. Did the same thing with my desktop pc long time ago.  Works really well, now I can enjoy playing game quietly.

I brought the 50ft cable here

Give it a try if you can't stand the PS3 noise.

PS3s make a lot of noise? Have you ever tried playing with a fat Xbox 360? The things sound like old vacuum cleaners...

Excellent diagram.

Another thing worth trying, run a vacuum cleaner over the consoles exhaust ports. Dust build up around the cooling fan makes it noisy.

Close the door, put out the light.

Seriously. I have the original white one, sounds like one of those floor fans that make you sound like a robot when you talk into them. But if you wrap it in heavy, wool blankets...

I have the slim one, it's the cd drive that's making all those noise. running game without cd is not so bad.

Thanks, I need to do that with my laptop fan too, It must be full of dust in there.

and if you put my ps3 against the wall, or on a wooden floor,  it sounds like a minor earthquake due to vibration from the drive.

But it doesn't beat the fact that the 360 can catch fire and cause hundreds of thousands of dollars in property damage. Then you can say some wacko with a Grind Blade came in and started wrecking everything.

Not that anyone would believe you.

I don't change game often, but if I do it can be a pain.

I had a problem with the 360 disc tray a while ago, it would get stuck and I would have to whack it for it to open XD

I had the same problem with my dad's pc long time ago, couldn't fix it but I opened the drive it had something to do with the rubberband something...something. It should be easy and inexplansive to just replace the entire drive for both pc and 360 though.
