Never use anecdotal evidence from mid-battle to make statements on how things work. All you're doing is giving people your guess, not the facts.

Months ago, someone tried using anecdotal evidence to claim the piles could hit through walls. Was completely sure of it, too, and said he saw it happen consistently over numerous fights. It was false, though.

If you do not know for certain, don't post up in this thread. This is Questions & Answers, not Questions & Theory. Leave that stuff for other topics.

Actually, that was me, and the "evidence" that "proved" I was wrong didn't provide solid evidence when it was meant to be countering claims of an INTERMITTENT problem, AND they never tested in the location where I said I'd seen it happen in a relatively reproducible way.

I'm confident that what I had seen wasn't normal or intended behaviour, but I'm still 100% confident that it DID happen occasionally. And I'm confident that my TESTING of that fact WASN'T purely done in a combat scenario, and the best example I gave in the thread was proof of that, because it was in the AC Test area against one of the test ACs.

Couple things.

First off, Zenos: You're not helping anyone with that.

Second, to Oblivion: Why bring all this up now, and not then? For starters, you were wrong: the hitboxes of piles cannot extend through solid objects, both then and now. I didn't put that video up to prove you wrong. I already knew you were long before then, since that was already tested months before ACL even existed. I put it up there simply to put an end to that pointless conversation. Whether you think it happened occasionally or not is irrelevant since you would be wrong either way. I knew it, others knew it, but you wouldn't take no for an answer back then.

If you feel the need to take it up further with me, do so outside of this thread. These past couple posts have been off-topic enough as it is.

Although it's not really a question about gameplay mechanics; There isn't a meta right now in my opinion, any kind of speculation on that would only encourage specific things to be used and thusly create said meta. Up until the current patch, glideboosting while firing ineffective damage such as gats or shotguns was pretty popular. We will have to see how people adjust to the current patch before a meta is established.

I've been trying, can't really seem to figure it out.

Or, more precisely, what HRJ setups do you know of that work?

EDIT: Additionally, how have subcomps been changed since V? I heard they're less effective now.

Another question I've been meaning to ask for some time: What effect does Muzzle Velocity have on overall damage dealt? Additionally, is there a certain percentage where the attack value increases with higher muzzle? (like, x muzzle is +y% attack increase)

Muzzle velocity has ZERO effect on damage dealt. If you go in scan mode and look at the damage charts, it should tell you the exact damage you are dealing per bullet with their armor and your range taken into consideration.

The biggest change is the Accelerated Lock-On stat. It's now at 155 compared to 199 in V.

Subcomputers essentially act as another FCS for example, so the lock-on formula would look like: weapon-lock on / FCS lock computation as a % / accelerated lock-on as a % / 60.

This question cannot be properly be answered at the moment, considering 1.03 is just around the corner. In fact, I would think that there will be constant shift due to updates every two weeks after 1.03. Once 1.06 is out and been playing it for more than two weeks. I'm sure we'll find the new meta.

for 1.02? I would go out on a limb and say HBP with a (CE or KE) shield and HEAT Machine/Gatling gun or Triple Shot BR. However, please disregard this if someone corrected it.

How much did the ineffective damage nerf affect the JP meta?


Gats are pretty much gone. The only shotguns you'll see are the USG-11/H and RF Zinnas.

Basically it's back to the way it was in V, but with more variety because of the added weapons.

There's been a lack of missiles, but that's probably attributed to the fact that permaglide is so easy to achieve so you can pressure with triple shot battle rifles without any trouble.

All it does is affect how fast your projectile travels. It affects nothing else.
