The extensions and core slots would have to be reworked but I think they would both add variety.

I'd probably toss core slots that affected weapons and focus on ones that changed stats for parts that have a limited number of choices. We have like 8 generators to choose from right now... something to alter their characteristics would go a long way. Same with FCS which somewhat limits weapon combinations.

Extensions have been replaced by shoulder units basically but I think having both would be good. I'd also like to see missile launcher back parts return. Missile defense extensions and more cover could help counter the additional missile possibilities.

Making shoulder parts installable in bays would be a good idea too IMO. Things like extra ammo, optical chaff, and some others would be more usable with a wider variety of compliments.

I like the conquest format but some of it was poorly done. No one wants to run battle after battle against non-threat computers. Cancelling and researching if the bar doesn't fill quick is a hassle.

On the plus side, conquest makes 4v4 the norm and I like that a lot more than the 1v1 mindset that reigns in free battle. It makes teamwork necessary instead of optional and I think that opens up a lot of possibilities, in terms of both AC design and play.

I'd like to see a 3 sided fight too, but I'm guessing the game doesn't want to manage 12 ACs at once.

I feel like the storylines are getting "bigger" and worse. I feel like the ACVD plot just plain sucked. I think a lot could be done plot-wise with the competing companies of old ACs.

I have a long list but my big three:
1. Flight
2. Back and arm mounted weapons
3. Previous quad and tank mechanics


Am I wrong in remembering Quads as being able to use ready-weapons while moving on the ground? I'd like that back - they already function as tanks somewhat and I don't like how so many weapons are essentially tank exclusive.

I definitely agree on the back mounted weapons, but I have mixed feelings on flight. I much prefer the wall jumping to what AC4 was. I think the greater issue of verticality is that the maps are too sparse. Also Tanks should probably be able to boost higher than they do - some maps, the entire battle happens without them.

Non-charged Laser rifles. I miss those.

I remember one gun in I forget which AC, the "Nighteye" - it wasn't all that good but it was sooo cool.

Right now I feel like most TE weaponry is just such a hassle to use (plasma gun has such short range, pulse cannon's only usable on tanks, PMGs are easy to buff TE against and an amplifier is a big design decision, Laser rifles have a charge that severely limits your movement) that your better off focusing on KE and CE.

Does anyone find any use in the shiobunes?

Radiator: This would either balance the game or break it depending on how they would do this since you would be adding on an additional stat to the weapons not to mention the boosters would get affected and the frame parts in general.


Radiators and the heat mechanic is about the last thing that I miss.

Never heard it used like that anywhere. Where I come from, and wherever I go, BM stands for bowel movement. Seems only specific to StarCraft 2 players by the looks of it, anyhow.

BM is bad mannered from what I learn from DOTA.

How about hovercraft with cannons? I think that is an interesting idea, lesser defense than a tank but offer speed in exchange.
I had stopped playing this game!

Thanks for the explanation, because for a moment it looked like the some of you are super easily offended by anything. The title wasn't "hey your wrong FAGGOT!" it was just "lolno" if "lolno" induces this must heart break, god damn don't go outside please. ^^;

That video demonstrates what ACV and Verdict Day are lacking. Not true flight, but the ability to boost up while in the air. You don't just get a jump from ground level that takes you (insert jump height here) metres, then only float at best once you're above ground.

And honestly, I still don't think that's as much of a deviation as what AC4 and For Answer did with Primal Armour. There's precedent - as shown - for more limited jump/flight capabilities than what we've seen in some past generations. There wasn't any precedent for a regenerating energy shield layer that covers your armour and blocks most damage.

As for what I want to see coming back: Orbit weapons. Heat management. Flamers and other heat-based weapons.

And what I want them to add: More tuning. We get weapon tuning with 3 points and 3 areas to upgrade. Give us something similar with frame parts. Allow players to adjust defense values on frame parts, with any buff being reflected by a modification of the appearance, and a slight reduction in the other two defense values. Internal part tuning would be nice too, especially if they add heat management back into the game.

And that actually reminds the one thing I really wanted back that 4-FA did right (or at least, that I liked) and that was the improved tuning system for frame parts that first came about in NX. Not sure how I feel about being able to tune defense stats, but stats like booster efficiency, turning, jump performance and stability would definitely be something I'd want. Not only does this add more variation without having to add more parts, but it also means that even if you choose the exact same parts that someone else has, it is still different from its tuning alone (and the paintjob of course). VD did a so-so job of covering it with retrofit parts but the amount possibilities that frame tuning would give is absolutely massive, IF it is given a key role in AC design and refinement. I would say they'd have to tone it down a bit from FA though, and probably have a limited number of stats that can be modified at one time instead of having a certain number of points and being able to change 20-30 stats at once. I could also see them allowing us to decrease stats we don't need to allocate tunes elsewhere. Equivalent exchange. Or something like that.

Hell, with that kind of system you could even have optional parts to take up any area the tuning system wouldn't help much with or would complicate unnecessarily. I could see that working.

Regulations (at least for Free battles)

Remove stagger (except for heavy weapons) and inefficient damage

Weapon Reloading

Jump Jets over parkour

Why only add tuning of parts, if you could add DESIGNING your own parts? Now. that would really ne thrilling. Maybe I could put together some of my most Favorite Mech Designs in Armored Core.

On the flying thing: Still I am of the opinion that boosters should only augment movement, not being a whole way of movement. Like I said, If I want to play a flight game, I will play Ace Combat or something alike.

Go look for Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries (Mektek). And no, there is no need to exclude another portion of our already niche community because some of us don't have a degree in 3D Arts.

And thrust should only last long enough to get you on top stuff, like buildings. I don't see the point in prolonged flight.

I play. I just cant get the MP to run. Its kinda weird actually.

Hmm. Did you have the game installed previously? If so, you shall deinstall it all. But there would be still data of the game left. So you have to clean the Registry also of any leftover data. Then reinstall the game AND the packs. There could be a problem then, where the game does not start (There was in my Case). This could be solved if you let it start without the intro played. (I thiink you have to put "goes no video" into the command line to achieve that. After that it shall start then.


Edit: The Install should go as followed.

1st: IIntsall the Game
2nd: Intall any patches of the game
3rd: If you have the official M$ mechpacks, Now you shall install them
4th: Only after all that, intall the Mektek Packs.

Handheld Missles weapons, whats the use of subcomputer missile lock enchancement when you can't enhance your own missile lock on? (I know you can enchance your team mate but that just look silly in some way)

Maybe you can use it to make large missiles lock faster or something.
Anything can be solved with the proper application of explosives
