Just want to share a story on how using the L3 can broke your controller.

For those who are you still using L3 for glide boosting on PS3 controllers, I would suggest that it's time you swap the glide boosting away.

My L3 controller wear and tear due to glide boosting.

It comes back from the days when I use it heavily in ACV, glide boosting and firing at the same time.

However, now in verdict day, glide boosting is giving me problem.

The first syndrome would be a random text chat would appear, or worse, my weapon would purge. Then I realise it start pressing random buttons whenever I hold down the L3. Some google-fu online reveals some players are facing the same problem in COD. Apparently, this is a problem with some PS3 controllers wear and tear after pressing down on L3 for long.

My L3 is broken and I had to rely switching the control settings to L1 for glide boosting.

Apparently this has cause me some nuisance, sometimes in the midst of the battle I could accidentally hit L3 and swap my Bay weapons out; or now I cant even have the option to purge my weapons, else I could accidentally purge them in the midst of the battle.

Just wondering did anyone had the same problem too.
I had stopped playing this game!

I'm going to plead to the same problem. Regardless of control setup on ACVD, I am having trouble using one controller that purges and switches my weapons. In this case, you could attempt to repair it, but I would use a new controller entirely due to my laziness.

Don't forget to add Srash on Skype.

My controller is [heavily] beaten in from my extensive playtime on battlefield 3.

Still works fine.

PS3 controllers are notorious for having problems with the analog sticks when either L3 or R3 is pressed in when the analog stick is in an extreme position from the middle.

I have this problem on my controller from pressing forward on the stick and hitting the L3 button which wrecks one of the sensors in the controller. Leaving me with an AC that when the controller is in the middle position always walks forward.

I have booster on/off on L3 and I've encountered no problems. Maybe it has something to do with it being sixaxis, but if anything, that should mean my controller's shittier than the DS3 y'all are using.

You guys need to learn how to treat your controller gently, like a baby. :3

I've been using the same controller since the PS3's release, and nothing ever happened to any of my controllers. My brother smashed one, but that was about it.

just started noticing it but my L2 button's spring is a little weak but it still works and its probably from dropping it constantly on the floor

I think that whenever I feel like I've broken one of mine I just swap it out for another one that I have lying around. Then when that one appears to have broken I swap it for a different one. Currently I'm back to my very first controller, although I think that self-repairing controllers (when left unattended) are probably the product of a placebo effect.

Still, if you've got one that feels worn down, change controllers for a little bit.

I started VD with a new controller and L3 was toast a month in. Bought a new one and had issues a week later with about the same life span.

Close the door, put out the light.

This.

Probably depends on how you play and and button set up. I use default set up which requires my fingers to be all over the place but now my ac continually cuts of in glideboost which makes me panic and hold square. Ill have to reluctantly give credit to the Xbox controller that giant mess is very robust

Dude, if your L3 is broken, you can try to repair it. Just go on to ebay and buy one used for parts and you could try to salvage the L3 from it. otherwise i say throw it out and replace it.
